Mount Litera Zee School organizes Self-defense workshops in 24 schools to celebrate Women’s Day

08 March, 2016:  Mount Litera Zee School (MLZS), India’s fastest growing network in private-unaided category of K12 schools trained their girl students in Self-defense to celebrate International Women’s Day. The two-hour workshop was organized in 24 MLZS across India, including Ghaziabad, Kolkata and Amritsar. The free sessions were open to all; encouraged participation from parents and people around the school location.

The initiative came at a time when women empowerment is the need of the hour. Learning lifesaving self–defense skills is an inevitable part of empowerment, which builds confidence and ensures independence, stronger sense of safety among young girls. A leader in education sector, Zee Learn Ltd believes in bestowing top-notch learning to its students for a strong and self- sufficient future. The emphasis on holistic learning is of utmost priority- be it physical or intellectual.

In addition to the self-defense training, Zee Learn Ltd also created a platform for a dialogue between parents and local police where safety tips were shared by the district administration with the parents. It gave them a chance to create awareness on child safety where police shared tips on how to keep children safe. A total of 12000 students and 6000 parents participated in these workshops.
